A Prolog-oriented knowledge-based support of engineering computation is studed. The problem of cooperation between computational component (written in a procedural programming language) and supporting knowledge-based component is considered. The proposed solution is based on the developed framework where a selective mechanism for routines (in conventional programming language) is used.NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEIn fact, this paper has two main parts. In the first part some characteristics of developed framework (described in previous paper of the same author) are mentioned. The new notion (significant for implementation) \textit{Orientation of routine} is introduced. The second part contains an example related to individual girder. Some features mentioned in the first part are illustrated in this example. The final part of paper contains some remarks about implementation issues and conclusions related to described framework.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0977.00022].
