Hier wird im wesentlichen eine 8 Seiten lange klar und elegant geschriebene Arbeit von \textit{M. Kneser} [Composition of binary quadratic forms, J. Number Theory 15, 406-413 (1982; Zbl 0493.10029)] zu einem Opus von 73 Seiten aufgebläht. Die dargestellten Verallgemeinerungen, Querverbindungen und Beispiele aus der klassischen Theorie rechtfertigen meines Erachtens keineswegs den großen Aufwand.
