Motivated by papers of \textit{L. Almeida} [Calc. Var. Partial Differ. Equ. 3, No. 2, 193-242 (1995; Zbl 0820.58013)], the author gives an explicit construction of an everywhere discontinuous generalized weakly harmonic map from a two dimensional, simply connected domain to \(S^1\); her construction is simpler and more elementary than that of L. Almeida.
