Algebraic Poincaré cobordism (Q2765030)

The paper under review is a companion paper to the author's Introduction to algebraic surgery [Surveys on surgery theory, Vol. 2, Ann. Math. Stud. 149, 81-163 (2001; Zbl 0974.57001)]. While the previous paper is an introduction to algebraic surgery of Ranicki by using forms and formations, the paper under review presents an introduction to cobordism theory of algebraic Poincaré complexes. The theory was developed by the author [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., III. Ser. 40, 87-192 (1980; Zbl 0471.57010); 193-283 (1980; Zbl 0471.57011)] and [Algebraic \(L\)-theory and topological manifolds, Camb. Tracts Math. 102 (1992; Zbl 0767.57002)], as well as by \textit{M. Weiss} [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., III. Ser. 51, 146-192, 193-230 (1985; Zbl 0617.57019)].
