The author introduces some generalized twistor-theoretical constructions: the first example of null surfaces with shear in twistor theory, an example of a non-conformally-flat space-time which leads to a twistorial scattering theory, and more. Detailed calculations with a four-dimensional plane-wave space-time illustrate the constructions. Moreover, the author develops far-reaching visions on a possible unification of twistor theory and super-string theory as well as on time asymmetry in physics.
