In practice the delay constants for linear delay systems are not precisely known in general. To aim directly at this shortcoming, an adaptive control strategy for the delay parameter is proposed. Sufficient conditions for the existence of a delay-dependent controller are given by an LMI. The stability of the closed-loop system is analyzed.
