A VS-MRAC with a lower variable structure control gain (English)
0 references
The authors discuss the VS*MRAC system with relative degree \(n^*\geq 1\), and a new variable structure control law is proposed for this system. The main results solve open problems in previous papers [see \textit{L. Hsu}, \textit{A. D. de Araújo} and \textit{R. Costa}, IEEE Trans. Autom. Control 39, 4-21 (1994; Zbl 0805.93006); \textit{L. Hsu}, \textit{F. Lizarralde} and \textit{A. D. de Araújo}, ibid. 42, 386-393 (1997; Zbl 0876.93057)]. The main results are that 1) every auxiliary error can converge to zero in finite time with a lower variable structure control gain and, therefore, the tracking performance can be improved, and 2) the influence of averaging filters on the stability of the system is further investigated. A simulation example shows that the results are very effective.
