The authors present results of investigation of the influence of a rudder profile shape on its efficiency. Experimental investigations have been carried out in a hydrodynamic tunnel for the rudder system containing a semi-balanced rudder behind a bracket. On the basis of analysis for the penguin body the bracket profile of a rudder system was developed which provides a higher efficiency of whole system control in a wide band of attack angles.
