The Stokes problem for flow around a rectangular plate (English)

The authors consider Stokes flow of viscous incompressible fluid outside a rectangular plate. By using the harmonic potential theory, the corresponding boundary value problem is reduced to two-dimensional Fredholm equation of the first kind on the surface of the plate. For numerical solutions of this integral equation, the authors represent the unknown density by an orthogonal system of trigonometric functions. The flow streamlines are studied for different geometric parameters of the plate.
