Structural bifurcation of 2-D incompressible flows (Q2767800)

The authors study the structural bifurcation, i.e. change of topological-equivalence class, of one-parameter families of divergence-free vector fields on a two-dimensional (2-D) compact manifold with or without boundary. Necessary conditions for structural bifurcation and the singularity classification theorem are obtained. The main results are the full classification of orbit structure and sufficient conditions for the occurence of structural bifurcation. Some illustrative examples are given.
