Oscillatory behaviour in statically stressed viscoelastic inflation flow (English)
0 references
The author studies the inflation of a spherical shell of viscoelastic fluid obeying a highly nonlinear modified Maxwell constitutive equation. It is found that, if the rate of increase of driving pressure is slow, then the growth of the shell is monotone with time, and if the rate is high, then the growth is oscillatory.
