A set-point regulation problem is considered for a class of nonlinear discrete-time systems. Both adaptive and non-adaptive control strategies are discussed. The conditions under which discrete-time integral controllers achieve set-point regulation are presented. These results are applied to the sampled-data control of exponentially stable linear systems with input and output nonlinearities, and a simple example is given for illustration purposes.
