A collection of openly minimal dendrites (English)

A dendrite means a locally connected metric continuum containing no simple closed curve. A dendrite \(X\) is defined to be openly minimal provided that every nondegenerate open image of \(X\) can be openly mapped onto \(X\). The main result of the paper is the construction for each positive integer \(n\) of an openly minimal dendrite having exactly \(n\) nondegenerate open images. A construction of an openly minimal dendrite having exactly countably many nondegenerate open images is also presented. The existence of an openly minimal dendrite with uncountably many nondegenerate open images is unknown.
