The core and consistency properties: A general characterisation (English)

This paper provides a unified characterization of the core as a solution concept for transferable utility cooperative \(n\)-person games, involving conditions of non-emptiness, superadditivity, consistency over reduced game mappings, and conditions related to individual rationality. Previous characterizations have differed in their definitions of reduced subgame (in which some players bargain among themselves for a redistribution of their part of the solution), and this paper uses a general notion of a reduced game mapping which encompasses previous notions.
