On soliton solutions of nonlinear sigma models of symmetric spaces (English)
0 references
In this work, the author reviews the integration technique of Belinskii-Zakharov in a coordinate free way and discusses the two reduction problems. Also the vacuum and electro-vacuum Ernst equations as nonlinear sigma models on symmetric spaces are briefly reviewed. The \(N\)-soliton solutions of principal chiral field equations are given and two different reduction problems are discussed. Finally, the complex two-pole soliton solutions of vacuum and electro-vacuum Ernst equations on arbitrary background are constructed and explicit solitons with flat backgrounds are given.
