The aim of this paper is the presentation of the role of the addition property (AP), its relation to the famous bilinear operator formalism and its universality. The authors show that using the AP, the quasi-periodic and soliton processes can be considered in an identical manner. A close relation with the natural generalization of bi- and tri-linear operators into multiple linear operators are discussed.
