Manifestation of bifurcation memory effects in dynamical system behavior (English)
0 references
An unusual behavior of a dynamic system in the vicinity of a dangerous bifurcation boundary is described. This behavior is governed by some stable stationary regime which is either already vanished or not yet appeared. The author shows that the bifurcation memory effects provide possibilities for understanding already known features of the system behavior, as well as for prediction of unknown features.NEWLINENEWLINEThe article is based on a lecture given by the author for secondary school teachers in the framework of the ``International Soros Science Educational Program'' and is aimed at presenting contemporary developments in mathematics on an elementary level understandable for secondary school teachers and pupils.
