The authors present a modification of the method of continuation of a parameter for studying systems of nonlinear ordinary differential equations which can be reduced to a single equation. This method makes it possible to avoid calculating the inverse Jacobi matrix and, moreover, to overcome difficulties connected with certain bifurcations.NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEAs an illustrative example, it is shown how this method may be applied to solving a certain problem related to the Aris-Amudson model from the chemical reactor theory.
