A subspace \(X_0\) of a Banach space \(X\) is weakly-Chebyshev if the projection set of an arbitrary \(x\in X\) is nonempty and weakly compact. The authors characterize weakly-Chebychev subspaces of \(L_1\) and give conditions for the projection map to be upper semicontinuous.
