Convection-driven dynamos in rotating spherical fluid shells (English)

The authors give a short review of the title problem. The underlying calculation use Rayleigh number, Coriolis parameter, Prandtl number and magnetic Prandtl number as important parameters. The velocity and magnetic field are decomposed in poloidal and toroidal parts. The authors discuss the bifurcation properties of the system, describe general dynamo solutions, and analyze some cases of oscillating dynamos. Numerous references are given to former authors' contributions and to other related works.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0973.00055].
