Super- and counter-rotating jets and vortices in strongly magnetic spherical Couette flow (English)

The MHD flow problem in a spherical layer is studied in the presence of external magnetic field. The inner and outer layer of the spherical zone can rotate, and the fluid has a finite electrical conductivity. It is remarkable that the induced magnetic field enters the governing equation only as a parameter. The study of the solutions is reported in a discussion, and some important subclasses are shown in figures. Relations of the obtained results to former, more detailed reports are mentioned.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0973.00055].
