Black holes: Scatterers, absorbers and emitters of particles (English)

Absorption is one of the properties that characterizes the black hole description in classical physics. Black holes absorb waves but they cannot emit them. The author studies the absorption spectrum of the black hole in detail. The absorption spectrum as a function of the frequency shows a remarkable oscillator behaviour characteristic of a diffraction pattern.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0976.00049].
