[For part I of this paper see \textit{A. K. Single}, Math. Res. Lett. 7, No. 2-3, 165-176 (2000; Zbl 0965.13013).]NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINE\textit{G. Lyubeznik} conjectured [cf. Invent. Math. 113, No.~1, 41-55 (1993; Zbl 0795.13004)], that if \(R\) is a regular ring and \(I\) is an ideal of \(R\), then the local cohomology modules \(H^i_I(R)\) have only finitely many associated prime ideals. In this paper the author uses techniques from his earlier paper (part I, loc. cit.)) in order to investigate if an example of a regular ring \(R\) with local cohomology modules having \(p\)-torsion elements for any prime \(p\) can be constructed. This leads to some interesting questions, and the results support Lyubeznik's conjecture.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0974.00036].
