Nonlinear standing waves in resonators of arbitrary axisymmetric shape (English)

This very short paper deals with the description of finite-amplitude standing waves generated by a piston or shaker in acoustic resonators. A one-dimensional model Ilinsky equation with nonlinearity of third order was earlier derived for axisymmetric acoustic resonator. In this paper, the authors derive another model equation with nonlinearity of the second order. This equation is rewritten into dimensionless variables, and then is converted into the frequency domain. Numerical result are presented for sound fields in axisymetrically-shaped resonators and in cylindrical resonator, using multifrequency driving technique for suppressing of higher harmonics.
