The main purpose of this paper is to apply the higher-order surface radiation condition method to the scattering of plane waves by an eccentric penetrable circular cylinder. Comparisons are performed between the exact answer of the problem and the surface radiation condition solutions. In such a way it is observed that the introduction of higher-order radiation conditions improves the approximation considerably in comparison with the results obtained by the use of a second-order radiation condition, especially in cases where creeping waves are less pervasive. The results are supported by several numerical simulations.
