Sufficient conditions are found under which the dynamics of a high-level hierarchical hybrid system and its associated set of control laws are robust with respect to small perturbations of the partitions of the dynamics of the system and the nature of the controllable flows. The analysis employs two notions of deformation of a partition specified respectively by (i) maps of the boundaries and (ii) maps of the block of the partition. Further, the robustness properties of the partition machine are investigated for deformations of the controllable flow and, finally, for certain mechanical systems.
