Let \(G\) be a finite group, \(\text{ncc}(G)\) the number of conjugacy classes of \(G\) and \(\mu(G)=|G|/\text{ncc}(G)\). In this note, the author improves the result \(\mu(G)\geq 8/5\) using the smallest prime factor of \(|G|\), which was obtained by the reviewer and \textit{Y. Xiao} [Southeast Asian Bull. Math. 22, No. 3, 301-305 (1998; Zbl 0940.20026)].
