Triangle of thoughts. Translated from the French by Jennifer Gage (English)

This is an excellent English translation of the French original with the same name (see Zbl 0999.00007). The three authors who have all made pioneering contributions to both mathematics and physics in the last century, discuss many fundamental notions, ideas, problems, and aspects of contemporary mathematics, physics, and natural sciences, with a particular emphasis on their philosophical impact. The discussion ranges from Gödel's theorem over quantum mechanics and the uncertainty principle to general relativity, thus being fully accessible, by its very nature, only to specialists or laymen with a sufficiently solid background. On the other hand, also non-specialists will be delighted by this brilliant ``menage à trois intellectuel'' of three outstanding scientists of our time. It is good news that, after being translated into English, this booklet may now find the worldwide readership it deserves. In spite of its excessive price, it is warmly recommended.
