This book takes the reader on a very entertaining journey to the limits of our scientific knowledge with an emphasis on the gaps which are left.NEWLINENEWLINE The author considers what is to be found between the scientifically known and the scientifically uncertain, inaccessible or doubtful, a magical borderland which may or may not be explained by the use of intuition and thought. He succeeds in convincing the reader that hardly any part of science can be filed away as fully `understood', and that these areas of `incompleteness' will stimulate the scientist to focus on these fields to possibly find new results.NEWLINENEWLINE The book is organized into chapters on thermodynamics, elements and particles, time and entropy, chaos and life, quantum theory, cosmology and mathematics and even religion.NEWLINENEWLINE It is great fun to read for scientists and non-scientists alike, and it contains a very useful glossary explaining in clear language the technical terms used in the individual chapters so that non-scientists, too, can enjoy the book.
