The subject of the paper is the iterative method for the approximation of periodic solutions which was first introduced by \textit{A. M. Samoilenko} [Ukr. Mat. Zh. 17, No. 4, 82-93 (1965); ibid. 18, No. 2, 50-59 (1966; Zbl 0158.34002)]. The authors obtain new estimations for the approximation error.
