Chebyshev spectral-finite element method for two-dimensional unsteady Navier-Stokes equation (English)
0 references
The paper presents and analyses a Chebyshev spectral-finite element method for solving the two-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations in rectangular domains. Rigorous mathematical proofs for generalized stability and convergence are given. A comparison with a standard finite element method shows, as one should expect, the higher accuracy of the spectral scheme. Issues of numerical efficieny are not discussed. Also, questions concerning possible generalizations of the scheme to more practical situations are not addressed.
