The author studies the point spectrum and the eigenvectors of nonlinear functions, generating scalar play hysteresis operators. He proves that the point spectrum is restricted to the segment \([0,1)\), which reflects the known regularizing properties of the play operators and the Lipschitz property with constant not greater than \(1\).
