The major attention is focused on the characteristics of the modern scientific developments carried out in the Institute in the whole and in its departments in particular. The additional information in this regard is found in the list of references comprising all surveys of the leading scientists of the Institute published during 1955-1999 in the journal ``Prikladnaya Mekhanika'' and other national and foreign editions.
