Construction of velocity potential of a semi-infinite liquid column excited by a spherical calotte oscillating inside a cylindrical cavity (English)
0 references
The paper deals with the problem of the excitation of a semi-infinite liquid column by a spherical segment oscillating inside a rigid cylindrical cavity. The solution to the Laplace equation is found under appropriate boundary conditions on spherical, cylindrical and plane surfaces bounding the liquid. Moreover, the possibility is used to expand the spherical harmonic functions in cylindrical harmonic functions and vice versa. The potential constructed is applied to calculations of the liquid pressure and velocity.
