Solving problems on the stress state of thin shells of revolution under local loads (English)
0 references
The authors propose an approach to solution of the strain problems for locally loaded orthotropic shells of revolution. By means of some analytical transformations, the original system of partial differential equations is written in the form where the terms characterising the surface loading are continuous functions of the circular coordinate. This allows to speed up the convergence of trigonometric series representing the solution. One-dimensional boundary value problems are solved by a stable numerical method. The examples concerning the stressed state of cylindrical shells are presented.
