Continuing his series of Handbooks on nonlinear differential equations (1993; Zbl 0869.34001), exact solutions for ordinary differential equations (1995; Zbl 0855.34001 and Zbl 0855.34002 and Zbl 0877.34001), integral equations (1998; Zbl 0896.45001 and 1999; Zbl 0916.45001), linear equations of mathematical physics (2001; Zbl 0989.35001), and ordinary differential equations (2001; Zbl 0999.34001), the author now presents a Handbook of linear partial differential equations for engineers and scientists. By ``scientists'' he probably thinks of working specialists in natural sciences as physics, chemistry, and biology. In fact, for such an audience the handbook may be suitable, but certainly not for mathematicians.
