The author gives a characterization of space-like or time-like cylindrical ruled surfaces in the 3-dimensional Minkowski space whose Gauss map \(\xi\) satisfies an equation of the form \(\Delta \xi= A\xi + B\), where \(A\) is a \(3\times 3\) matrix with real coefficients and \(B\) a vector in \(R^3\).
