Stability of viscous shock waves for problems with nonsymmetric viscosity matrices (English)
0 references
The authors study stability of viscous shock waves satisfying a parabolic system of conservation laws \( v_t+f(v)_x=Bv_{xx} \), with generally nonsymmetric viscosity matrix \(B\), and give sufficient conditions for nonlinear stability, which are based on spectral analysis for the resolvent equation of the corresponding linearized problem.
