Strain gradient elasticity for antiplane shear cracks: A hypersingular integrodifferential equation approach (English)

This highly mathematical paper considers Casal's strain gradient elasticity associated with volumetric and surface energies. For a finite crack, a hypersingular integrodifferential equation is formulated for the crack slope. The multi-field solution is then elaborated. In a certain case, a closed-form solution for the crack profile is obtained. The question of convergence is studied in detail, both analytically and numerically.
