These are the 3rd and 4th editions of an original Russian textbook on functional analysis revealing the experience of teaching functional analysis at the Novosibirsk State University. The books are intended for graduate students and university teachers. The emphasis is on the theory of Banach algebras, functional calculus, theory of Noether operators, duality theory of locally convex spaces, convex analysis, theory of distributions and similar topics. NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEThe author added a symbol index to the 3rd edition and, additionally, added a glossary to the 4th edition. Inaccuracies and misprints which occurred in the previous editions were also corrected. NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEFor reviews of the 1st Russian edition and its English translation, see Zbl 0581.46001 and Zbl 0852.46001, respectively.
