This is a collection of famous papers by Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz (1646-1716) on mechanics, physics and philosophy of science. The book includes some papers written in polemics with the Cartesian approach to the notion of force and momentum, two ``dynamical etudes'' on the laws of motion and the nature, and Leibniz's treatise ``Dynamics.'' All the papers were translated by L. Polak in 1937 but never published before in Russian. The book includes also a biography of G. W. Leibniz written by V. I. Yakovlev.
