The vector optimization problem (i.e. multiple criteria problem solving) is investigated. The book consists of two parts and applications. NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEPart 1 is devoted to the theoretic backgrounds of the problem and has four chapters. Chapter 1 consists of a short survey of approaches for solving of the investigated problem described in publications edited since 1986. In Chapter 2 the approach based on criteria normalization is developed. Basic definitions are given, a system of axioms is formulated, principles of optimality are determined, characterized and illustrated geometrically. In Chapter 3 algorithms for solving the problem under study are proposed for the cases when the criteria are of equal worth as well as when some criterion is selected as the priority one. In Chapter 4 duality of multiple criteria linear problems is studied systematically. NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEIn Part 2 the developed models and methods are considered as a tool of decision making support in management. In Chapter 5 abstract hierarchical systems are presented via multicriteria problems. These models are considered in detail for management of a firm (Chapter 6), for modelling the evolution of an economy in a region (Chapter 7) and a country (Chapter 8), for modelling of an economy at international level (Chapter 9). NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEApplications consist of a methodology of decision making for complex economy system on the base of the proposed mathematical models, instruction and the code text for solving multiple criteria linear problems (Work Station Fortran). NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEThe book is of interest for students, post graduates and researchers dealing with problems of multiple criteria type both in theoretical and applied aspects.
