Optimal profiles for supercavitating propeller screws with spoilers and fixed angle of frontal edge taper (English)

The exact analytical solution is obtained to the two-dimensional nonlinear problem of a shock free cavitating flow past a wedge with sides of unequal length and a spoiler at the trailing edge of the `lower' face. The Efros cavity closure scheme with a reentrant jet was adopted. The numerical results obtained are compared with those of the corresponding linear theory. A new type of the supercavitating section is designed, having a wedge-like shape of the two-sided wetted forward part, a 2\% length spoiler and a controllable thickness of the leading edge of the foil.
