This handbook describes in 26 chapters statistical tests. From Gauss test to Goodman and Kruskal's gamma the more popular one- and two-sample, ANOVA and correlation/association tests are covered. The procedures are organized along the following format: NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINE(1) hypotheses evaluated with the test and relevant background information; (2) example; (3) formal null versus alternative hypotheses; (4) test computation; (5) interpretation of results; (6) additional analytical procedures; (7) additional discussion; (8) additional examples. NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEMost of the chapters are devoted to just one test. But some deal under a more global heading with quite a range of tests. An example is chapter 16, `The single-factor between subjects ANOVA', which deals with 8 tests. An introduction provides an overview of descriptive statistics and experimental design. The in depth discussion of the tests makes this handbook to a little more than a ``cookbook''.
