Decision theory as philosophy (English)
0 references
The author finds in decision theory, construed in Bayesian terms as the maximization of expected utility, a fundamental insight and inspiration bearing on epistemology. The author's position is clearly stated and carefully argued --- we might characterize it as a ``cautious Bayesianism'' --- but it contains no technical novelties. The book is a purely philosophical treatise.
