Relation between the time and space step-sizes in nonstandard finite-difference schemes for the Fisher equation (English)
0 references
A nonstandard finite difference scheme for the Fisher equation, with a positivity condition imposed on the solutions, is shown to lead to restrictions on the time stepsize once the space stepsize is selected. For a particular stepsize functional relation, it is proven that the solution to the difference equation has the same upper bound as the solution to the partial differential equation.
