The analytical properties of a semi-linear elliptic equation describing some chemical reactions of reaction-diffusion type taking place in the grain body of a rigid porous catalytic agent are discussed. The properties of the solutions of elliptic equations are considered when choosing variants of numerical algorithms for their study.
