Diffusion phenomenon of solutions to the Cauchy problem for the damped wave equation (English)
0 references
The aim is to survey some recent results on the Cauchy problem for the non-homogeneous damped wave equation, in connection with the diffusion phenomenon. Choosing particular forms for coefficients, the critical exponent could be determined. The survey starts with a discussion on the diffusion phenomenon for the linear wave equation with a constant damping coefficient and is followed by a presentation of the properties of solutions for semilinear damped wave equations. Finally some results for particular damping coefficient and source are shown.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 1321.35002].
