The authors study a class of boundary value problems with Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative of order \(\alpha\in(3, 4]\). Some properties of Green's function of an equivalent integral equation are proved, and a corresponding Lyapunov-type inequality is obtained, then a necessary condition for nonexistence of solutions of fractional boundary value problems is given.
