The authors present some new and innovative results concerning the exact evaluation of limits obtained by nonstationary approximating subdivision algorithms. The paper consists of five parts. In the first part, the motivations and contributions of the authors are presented. In the second and third part, the authors present nonstationary subdivision schemes generalizing the cubic B-spline and NSCB schemes. In Part four, an application example is presented. Finally, in Section five, at Conclusions, the authors underline the benefits of the results obtained, namely to support and to extend the use of nonstationary subdivision methods to new applications fields.
